My Spring Wardrobe Necessities

Although it isn't spring here just yet, I can't help but be excited about the oncoming season! Spring is one of my favorite times of the entire year. You finally get to shed off those heavy winter coats and spend some quality time outdoors without having to worry about freezing to death. I thought I'd put together my spring necessities list for my spring wardrobe for a little inspiration for others.

Spring Wardrobe Necessities

Beige Tops:  They're something different than the typical white t-shirt and go nicely with just about anything.
Neutral/Printed Tanks: Perfect for those warmer days and look adorable paired with a bralette or sports bra beneath.
Shorts: By not just sticking to denim, you can mix up your style a bit. Try adding a bit of indie flare with a bit of crochet.
Light-wash Jean: Lighter jeans are perfect for this type of year. They can keep you warm without attracting too much heat. I've currently been obsessing over TopShop's boyfriend jeans.
Leather Bags: When is a leather bag not in style? I really love the lighter colors that come out during spring as well.
Sandals: Embellished sandals are one of my favorite types of shoes. They will definitely be making a reoccurance in my outfits.

Spring needs to get here faster! I can't wait to get rid of my winter clothes and bring out my new springs ones. Let me know in the comments below some of go-to springs pieces. What are your favorite things about spring? What time of year is it where you are?

Trends I Love: NYFW 2014

It’s that time of year again where fashion thrives in the “Big Apple”. Fashion designers everywhere come to N.Y.C. to display their latest and greatest designs for the whole world to see. Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to experience the excitement first-hand, but instead I’ve been able to watch from behind my computer screen. Here are some of my favorite street trends so far for New York Fashion Week 2014. (Photo Credit: Diego Zuko)

Holographic Vinyl: This material is sure to catch the eye no matter what the piece: shoes, coat, or even clutch. Its futuristic appearance can update almost any outfit. Modeling a holographic coat above is the lovely Alexa Chung.

Black and Navy: Although once considered a fashion “no no”, black and navy are becoming a haute couture pairing. It’s an easy way to add style to a simple all-black outfit. This is something I will definitely be incorporating into my wardrobe.

Colorful Coats: A reoccurring trend this season. If you’re like me and most of your clothes are either black, white, or beige, investing in a bright colored coat would be a wise decision. Bright colors are a fun way to draw attention to your clothes while not going too far out of your comfort zone.

Sweaters and Long Skirts: I have a feeling that this will become a HUGE trend fall/winter 2014. It’s been featured multiple times on the runway the past few months. I’m excited to see just how far this trend will go.

2014 is going to be an amazing year in fashion judging by this year’s NYFW. Let me know in the comments below some of the trends you love. Which designers are you most excited to see? Which shows have you liked so far?
